russell katz

While his professional track has been nothing but linear, Russell Katz has always had two main passions defining his sense of himself and of his place in the world; a deep appreciation for art and a profound care for the environment. Even through his ventures in architecture and real estate, these passions were guiding forces in his practices, as he created and managed environmentally conscious and thoughtfully designed buildings. As the founder and former managing director of MOMIDC— a real estate firm focused on sustainable design— Russell oversaw the development of 350,000 square feet of multifamily, retail, and office space, along with 185 acres of conserved woodlands.

More recently, Russell turned his focus to his painting practice, with his paintings featured in a solo exhibition at Terzo Piano DC in 2020. The show featured many of his oil

and he is looking forward to a second exhibition set to open in August of 2025.
